Department of Visual Communication

The department was started in the year 2007 under the self-finance stream with 16 students. The department offers 3 years Undergraduate programme of Bsc Visual Communication. Art and Design are the main focus of the syllabi. Besides designing, we also give importance to Photography, TV production, Paintings and Animation. Animation includes 2D and 3D using software like 3d Studio Max, Flash. We have advanced infrastructure with well-equipped labs having equipment worth of  Rs 50,65,000 (approximately). Now we have total 114 students in the department.

Skill Based Course

 

 We are providing 2 skill based courses. Content Writing is the skill based paper for the students studying in the 4th Semester. The subject helps the students to write content for various media like TV, Radio, Documentary and Ads.

Our students study computing skill paper in their VI th semester. The students have to prepare a power point presentation on the topic related to their subjects. Each student has to submit one DVD consisting their PPT.

News Tabloid

We are publishing news tabloid “Vaishnav Pulze” every year. Our students write news about the happenings in the college, edit the news with the help of concerned staff and design the paper. Other department students can also contribute in cartoon section and complaint section. 

Association Activities

The department has conducted the association activities in the name of ‘Vaish-Ani-Fest’ and  ‘Visual Karishma’till 2010. In 2010, the department has renamed the association as ‘Mediji Fiesta’- media festival and ‘Ciencia Visuelle’-the science of visuals. Still, the department conducts the association with the same name. Mediji Fiesta is usually the seminar or symposium by the eminent media persons. Ciencia Visuelle is the workshop or exhibition or film screening for the other colleges or other department students.

Internship

Students must undergo internship of about 120 hours in fields relevant to the subjects studied in the last three semesters. Our students have done internship in various media houses like TV channels, Radio stations, Newspapers, Advertising Agencies, Production houses, Multimedia Institutes Animation studios and Modelling studios etc.
